Johnston Scholar at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She earned a Master of Arts degree in Counseling Education from East Carolina University. Faye has specialized in counseling children and families since 1984. She has provided counseling in both the public and private sector. She worked at the local Pitt County Mental Health Center as a child and family therapist and as a child and family program director prior to going into private practice at Cambridge Behavioral Health Services. Faye assists her husband in managing DRB Enterprise, LLC, a property management company. She is married to Frankie Bordeaux, and they have 5 children. They have a daughter who attends The Oakwood School. Faye has served on The Oakwood School Marketing and Admission Committee for two years. She is a past member of the East Carolina University Board of Visitors. Faye is the advisor for the Pitt County Youth for Justice and Change. She is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Faye and her family are members of St. Peter Missionary Baptist Church in Greenville, North Carolina where she serves on the Hospitality Committee.

Martha Brown is a board-certified chaplain. Ordained by the United Church of Christ. Martha has served in various governmental and private institutions. Her compassion and commitment to social justice advocacy has contributed to her serving people facing challenges, in crisis, and in critical need. Martha is an interpersonal communication instructor and has taught courses at the community college and offered seminars in the community. A creative, Martha has used film, art, and music to offer hope, joy, and support. Nicknamed by a coworker, Chaplain Extra, Brown plays as hard as she works. When not living up to her nickname, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling (by plane, train, automobile or ship), reading, and laughing.

Portia Bright-Pittman is a former justice involved individual who has turned her mistakes into keys to success that will help others transitioning out of incarceration find success at being productive citizens contributing to the betterment of the community.
Being led by Christ out of incarceration, Portia became a graduate of Pitt Community College Human Services and Substance Abuse Counseling Associates Program, Cornell University Bank of America Institute Women's Entrepreneur Program and the University of South Florida Muma College of Business Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Program. She served as legislative assistant for legislators in the North Carolina Senate and House of Representatives.
Since 2017, she has been a working member of the NC Reentry Council Collaborative established by Governor Roy Cooper, a 2020 graduate of the Formerly Incarcerated, Convicted Peoples and Families Movement Fellowship, Community Organizer with NC Second Chance Alliance and a published award winning children's author.
She expresses her passion for criminal justice reform by helping those involved in the system understand how government works and how to become better citizens after incarceration. Portia leads programs for schools, criminal justice reform, faith communities, and civic groups.
Seeing a need for energetic nonprofit work in this area, we formed our organization to provide sensible solutions for successful reentry after incarceration.
